PRIVACY AND SAFETY
Rat Radar tells a person or an AI agent whether a website will let them collect its data, and the best way to do it. This page says what it does and does not do with your data.
What we collect
- Page views and button clicks, counted with GoatCounter (privacy-friendly, no cookies, no fingerprinting, no personal profile). The counter script is hosted on this site.
- Usage totals shown on the page: each browser tab that opens Rat Radar adds one to a daily visit count, and each agent connection or tool call to the MCP server adds one to its count. Only the daily totals are kept, never an IP address, cookie or address. Anyone can read them at /v1/stats.
- Never the addresses you scan, the HTML you paste, or the sites you look up in your own tools. Those never reach the counter.
- No accounts, no cookies, no ads, no third-party fonts or scripts. Your browser keeps one small setting on your own device (whether you have closed the welcome card).
What happens when you scan a page (X-Ray)
- Your browser asks our edge function to fetch that one public page. It fetches only the page, follows at most four redirects, reads at most 1.5 MB and sends back the HTML. It forwards none of your cookies or headers.
- We do not store the page or the address. Cloudflare keeps short-lived request logs and the rate-limit counters that every site on its network has.
- The analysis then runs in your browser.
What the weekly probe does
- Once a week it visits the public home page, robots.txt, sitemap and llms.txt of each listed site, with an honest user agent and no logins. Nothing private is read or kept. The result is a heuristic, not a legal opinion.
- Site owners can ask for a site to be removed from the list. See the contact note below.
Limits that protect other websites
- The scanner cannot be pointed at private or internal addresses, odd ports, or pages behind a login.
- Requests are rate limited per visitor, and any one target site is capped across everyone, so this tool cannot be used to hammer a website.
Reporting a problem
If you find a security problem, or you own a listed site and want it removed, please contact RatLabs through ratlabs.tech. Please do not run load tests or scans against the edge function.
